USCGC Galveston Island (WPB-1349)
USCGC Galveston Island (WPB 1349) is an Island-class United States Coast Guard Cutter in the United States Coast Guard. She was commissioned on June 5, 1992. Her original home port was Apra Harbor, Guam, but later changed to Honolulu, HI, which she still calls home today.
The 110-foot Island-class Patrol Boats are a Coast Guard modification of a British-designed patrol boat. With range and seakeeping capabilities, the Island class, all named after U.S. islands, replaced the older 95-foot Cape-class patrol boats. These cutters are equipped with advanced electronics and navigation equipment.[1]
